CRCT EXAMS!

CRCT exams will take place April 23-May 2.  Please make sure that your child continues to practice online and reads every night, as I will not assign homework during the testing period.  I want them to be fresh and ready to do their best every morning of testing.

TIPS YOU CAN USE

  1. Get LOTS of rest everynight.  (Turn the TV and computer off early.
  2. Get exercise each day afterschool.
  3. Make sure they have a good, hot breakfast.
  4. Give them quiet time.
  5. ENCOURAGE, ENCOURAGE, ENCOURAGE them to do their very best daily.

SPRING BREAK!

Welcome back!  Hope you had a wonderful time with your child and got some much needed rest.  We are nearing the end of the schoolyear, but there is still lots to cover before summer vacation.

In case you have forgotten to remind them, the Spring Break Packet that they took home with them is due on Friday, April 18th.  Since they were given such an extended time to complete the packets, no late packets will be accepted.  Also, their Constitution Booklets are due on Monday, April 21.  They were given an opportunity to work on them over spring break, so I cannot accept late booklets.

SPIRIT DAY!

Spirit Day is every Friday!  If your child has anything blue and yellow, our school colors, make sure that they wear those colors every Friday.  The class with the highest number of students wearing blue and yellow is recognized during afternoon announcements on Friday.  We would just love to have bragging rights for winning this contest!

WE'RE IN NEED!

Parents, we are completely out of facial tissues and hand santizer. Also, make certain that your child has loose leaf notebook paper and non-mechanical pencils. Always check his/her bookbag and agenda every evening for homework assignments and notes/papers coming home. Look for registration forms to arrive on Friday, March 28. Please complete the forms and return them in the brown envelop as soon as possible because the final report card will be mailed to you in the same brown envelop, so it is extremely important that you return the information in the envelop. Our final field trip to The World of Coca Cola will take place on May 5th. Permission slips were sent home earlier this week. The cost of the trip for students is $12.00, and for adults it is $14.00. If you will be traveling with us, check that area on the permission slip because we will need a definite count in order to arrange for buses. We will also need to know your child will be ordering a school lunch or bringing a sack lunch from home. We are really excited about this final trip as class/team.

If you have any questions about anything, please email me.

Welcome To Our Blog!

Hello Everyone!

I am excited about beginning a blog for our class.  In having a blog, I hope to keep everyone better informed about what is going on in our classroom.  Topics will be posted each week, so just check the Powder Springs Elementary homepage, www.cobbk12.org/~powdersprings, for information you will need in order to help your child be successful in class.
