What can YOU do during YOUR
Spring Break?
(READ below for information about the -OPTIONAL- CHALLENGE!)
Well, if Kim Possible can, then you can too! Here are a few suggestions as to what you can do here in Metro-Atlanta during the break:
- while your parents are purchasing an ATLANTA CITY PASS
- while waiting in line for a table at a restaurant;
- while you are eating a snack at the HIGH Museum of Art
- while visiting the Atlanta History Center
- while waiting for your food at a restaurant,
- while waiting to see a show in the planetarium or gaze at the stars in the night sky through the GIGANTIC telescope at Fernbank Science Center
- while waiting for your brother or sister to finish laughing hysterically at the otters at the Georgia Aquarium,
- while waiting to see animals in the dark or watch an IMAX movie at Fernbank Museum of Natural History (You just might see Ms. Roberts and William there! We are volunteers at the Museum. :)),
- while resting during your hike on Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park,
- while exploring the poison dart frogs, new species of plants, and wandering through the Atlanta Botanical Gardens,
- while taking a break from all the FUN you're having at Imagine It! Children's Museum of Atlanta,
- while waiting to see RUFUS, Kim Possible's and Ron's friend, the naked mole rat, at Zoo Atlanta,

*while waiting to taste all the different sodas the Coca-Cola Company creates and sells around the world World of Coca-Cola,
- *while waiting to ride your favorite roller coaster at Six Flags,
*while taking a break from reading a GREAT book in the car or at the beach,
you can practice your sight words and your number and shape skills (located in your math folder)! Prizes will be awarded for friends who study during the break. :)
- - - - And heeeeeeres the Optional CHALLENGE! - - - -
I, Kimberly Ann Possible Roberts, challenge you to "go above and beyond" during your break! You can even EARN GIGANTIC Prizes!
Be CREATIVE!
And, as our friend, Ms. Frizzle says,
"Take chances!
Make mistakes!
Get messy!"
Here are a few ways you can achieve your goal!
- Wherever you are, find new manipulatives for your number cards. Here's a fantastic example:
If you're at the beach, collect a few seashells or beach flotsam and put your number card next to your new and FREE manipulatives! Bring your work to school to share with us.

- Borrow a camera, or invest in an inexpensive
disposable camera and take photos of your experiences. After you have developed the film, choose 2-3 of your favorite photos. Write a sentence for each photo you chose. Bring your work to school with you to share with us! Here's an example:

William bought Legos at the Lego Store with his own money. :)

William (aka C-3P0) mailed postcards to his friends at the R2D2, USPS mailbox!

This is a REAL spacesuit!
(William learned something during his vacation. Ask him what he learned! :)

- Where did you go? How long did it take you to get there? How did you travel to your destination? "Show and Tell" - Use a map, and/or photos or drawings, to show us HOW you arrived at your destination. Then describe, or TELL, us how you arrived at your de
stination.

- There are many other ideas and "thinks you can think" (thanks Dr. Seuss!) to do for your above and beyond project. Have fun! I know I wll . . . because I have accepted YOUR challenge to "go "above and beyond" during my break.
