4th Grade is Heart Warming!

The 4th graders are using candy hearts to create, write and arrange an instrumental composition on the keyboards using the percussion sounds.  They are doing a great job!

Third Grade on the Keyboards

The 3rd graders have been spending time at the keyboards learning how to play simple rhythmic patterns and how to play glissandi and trills.  If you have a piano or keyboard at home, you should ask them to play a "glissando up" or a "glissando down" for you!

Second Grade

In Music, the 2nd graders are learning a poem called "Fire Fly".  They are learning to say the poem from memory.  They are tapping the steady beat to it, tapping the rhythm, as well, and learning to sing the poem as a song.  Once they master all of that, they are learning to play the song on the Orff instruments by reading the note names on the poem chart.  They are working in pairs to help each other learn how to play the song.

First Grade Scores on Rhythms!

J0432654 The first graders are learning to move around the Music Room in their own space as well as practicing the Heart Chart Rhythms.  They are actually reading music notation on their own.  Each student is being assessed on the accuracy of how they say and tap their assigned rhythm.  They are amazingly good!

Kindergarten Keeps a Beat!

Kindergarten is busy shopping at the "grocery store" in Music this rotation.  The students are learning a poem and picking an instrument on which to play the steady beat to the poem.  It's a lot of fun!  Also, we learned a new song about rhyming words.
